Yon, the dry earth which I’ve trod
‘til morn hath graced my eyes.
As stars beyond a wearied moon
painted my journey’s prize.

Beyond the clouds of yesterday,
the storms of rainy nights,
the winds that howl one’s breath away
beyond the city’s lights.

Beyond the cove of sailing ships,
the walk of salt shorn shore....
The crossroads to another place
as wandring souls explore..

Beyond the farms and furrowed fields
along the hedgerow’s grow.
Where oft the dark has yet revealed
what hath one’s mind to sow.

For in the spark of spiraling
an ember whispers me
to taste a bit of wandering
and ever to be free.

Barry/very...

The traveling had taken you places, but the hardest to find is

For in the spark of spiraling
an ember whispers me
to taste a bit of wandering
and ever to be free.

Love this, as I know the feeling so well.  One of your best!

I kept wanting to close my eyes and get lost in those beautifully visual words. Magnificent!

Very beautiful Barry .... there is that longing to experience freedom and to feel one with nature.

Ah, the wanderlust, the eternal "around the next corner", I suffer this malady.  You phrased it so beautifully-
