Instead, they waved To the passing breeze And sang against the wind Waiting it seemed For someone new to join in As brown heads bobbed slightly With the brush of skin We walked then Hand in hand through heated afternoons To find that place just up from Franklin’s Mill Where the river slowed and fell to wait For the next rush of rapid Hard stoned as it was There we slipped in And let cool play upon bare skin Wiling away the play With touches Teased out of smiles Till internal heat drove us to shore And we listened to the hymns Cattails played on reeds And wind |

The tone of this....so very much at peace with the memory. This is a textbook example of how to move a poem while holding it steady. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Magnificient and romantic... The woodwind player in me thought this was very pretty and witty at the same time. "And we listened to the hymns Cattails played on reeds And wind" [This message has been edited by miscellanea (09-08-2004 05:47 PM).] |

Fan-bloody-tastic! woohoo. I'm keeping it. Maree The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colour, but the sea, does not change. |
