Midori The light of a pearl colored dawn falls softly on my cheeks today as I disappear into my coat listening to the Beach Boys wishing instead I could share small brittle moments like these and share my warm love with Midori as wet lawns hiss the day to begin I'm feeling the ghost of her embrace like a late spring snowfall falling lightly on my skin with her ember eyes smouldering hovering over me in the night wish I could renew these moments within this warm love within Midori she is conspicous in her absence the dark cold desert of my bed scares me to death at 3 a.m so I hide in the dimming glow of my poorly written words translating her image in my mind with all my idiot heart for Midori so this is Midori or the best I could do to describe her but imitated, artificially flavored and never to replace her with that green firefly gaze she painted my life with she pained my life with but she stays inside me still and somewhere out there beyond the pearl colored dawn burning my poetry to warm her winter heart I'm sure |

Ouch! The ending stings! What an incredible piece of writing! I have seen some of your posts here and was waiting for my turn to say welcome here among us! You are cordially invited to share in our thoughts and share with us your thoughts. We are quite the compassionate, supportive, caring group of poets here. This is a home of sorts for those inspired to claim their gift of poetry. Your poem was very fluid and engaging. I stuck every word under my coat and ran off with it so it could sink in a bit. You are a talented poet and I would encourage you grow among us and continue to share your works of brilliance here. This poem was a keeper and i look forward to reading more from you. Warm regards, Kevin |

Thank you all very much for the kind welcome and comments. I love it here already! "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |

Hey, another newbie. Love the Beach Boys too. This is really mysterious and very nice. |
