A Short Reprieve from Missing Her

Now with
The void slowly lapsing,
The heavy hole submerges
And fades in the distance.

Outside little droplets
Sprinkle along the sky and ground,
Little invisible balls of pressure.

My tunnel of thought has collapsed
And in its wake, I feel so foreign
In this strange, concrete wasteland.

I stare and watch a starving bird
Picking away in frantic jolts
A strewn out, empty fast-food bag.

Here they come; these beautiful
Intricate dinosaur robots
Crawling across the ground and sky.

Here in this sad, strange image,
No longer easily labeled
As something in normality,

Where grass and metal fight
And tear the flattened earth
And soak in its strange loneliness,

I find myself and see these birds,
Elegant natural reactions
Bubbling in a ravaged land.

What processor must be buzzing
Within such sleek dark skulls?
Surely it is not so lucid.

I feel developed, but only a piece
Do I possess and process.
This utterly peculiar piece,

Is all that I possess.
I get up with my clothes and thoughts,
Stuck and muddled in the tunnel,
Once again.

Now I feel a little silly welcoming you when I see you were here before me.  So, welcome back.  Again, enjoyed this.
