Over a mountain far, far, away
energy waits in the shadows of life
in a tent perhaps or under a tree
encircled by ropes protecting the free
against the slithering slide
of mambas and cobras
and little grass snakes.

A fire to the side glows peacefully
content to remain settled and calm
in the face of the night’s
mysterious dark.

The moon overhead grins happily
for the scene down below
reminiscent of past
brings a glow to her cheeks
as she passes on by
to the other side.

The breath of air even and slow
rises and dips in tune with time
and the clouds gently roll
and touch tenderly
each star in the sky
in approval of
stability.

And the sun rises up
like Christmas tree lights
bedazzling the eyes
of pure energy
called now to move
and don a disguise.

When I awake no memory stirs
and tents and trees perhaps a dream
forgotten in the land of real.

But not to fade temporarily
from this reality
and release unadulterated energy
brings the mambas, cobras, in
and how they slither, slide, and glide,
and swallow whole the essence, soul!

a very good read, brings many thoughts to my mind, or are they dreams? ...

Thanks for the read, Eric.  Sometimes dreams are real and sometimes reality's a dream - go figure.

Just what I needed to read,  and right where I needed to be tonight.

Thanking you~

Frightening, in a way, this, but I get your point....and there is a profound truth here.   ....jo

Dear Bluesy, I'm glad it helped and thank  you for the read.

Hi, Jo - frightening?  I think it's essential to let go of this reality by sleeping - I just wish I could know what happens when we do but I do know that it's not frightening.
