Inspire, she surrounds,
yet thoughts hold, refrained,
my pen cries out
write...
write while you hear
the sounds of the sea,

but still
she does not come
to visit me.

She remains silent;
perhaps because
salt waters are colored
of bluish gray,
as fog encompasses
the sun of day....

I beg...
I plead....
but she does not hear,
I sense her presence
so very near,
her whispers drift gently
on the wind....

"not today, but soon...
we shall write again..."

Listening to every heart

When I first saw these photos,
I did not feel a coolness, like October,
but an enveloping summer's warmth...

and I do think your muse
did whisper...

you were just listening too intently
to the rumbling waves...

actually Kari, it was beautiful but it just seemed that the words wouldn't come without the sun!  Thanks so much for allowing me to store this and for all of your help with the "tweaking..."

The sea, dear one, has always been and will always be, a great part of my life and passion

Thank you for the beauty of this...looks to be a somewhat overcasted day...but it doesn't matter to me...even if it's raining there, being there is whats important, no matter the weather.

She and you will most certainly write soon...and I cannot wait to read you both...so tell her for me to hurry up...please.  Smiles and hugs

Lee it was very overcast when I took the photos, but it was beautiful at the same time and the ocean always inspires, even if the words don't want to co-operate. Thanks.

Mmmm, this is lovely.  I have experienced such breathtaking beauty that it has begged to be written of but the words just don't come.  That is how this poem makes me feel, as if I've been inspired but the ink well is dry and I must wait until later.

Donna

Sometimes for me, when something so inspiring happens, like the sea, it takes a while to perk within before it can be born into words.  Perhaps your muse has this same characteristic.  I've just learned to be patient.  Beautiful photos and poem, none the less!

I always find thoughts flow
In the crashing of the waves on the gritty sand,
Enjoyed the read and pictures

(does happy dance) Oh Donna, I'm sooooooo happy to see you and read you again, yay! I was busy preparing to move and moving the past few months and now I am only a half hour away from the ocean, yay! (kiss on cheek) I have always loved the ocean soooooo much and have dreamed to live by it, now I'm within a cannonball from it, yay! May the ocean continue to resonate to your heart from more than just seashell echoes, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

================================

Oh this I sooooo understand....
I was so awestruck by the beauty of the blue that it was weeks before I could attempt to try to put it all into words...and I just never felt like my words did the tides justice...

I miss the ocean more than words will ever speak of....so I am pleased to have this lovely reminder to stir my own memories.

Donna...Very enjoyable read. That old muse just can't be coaxed from within no matter what we try, we just have to wait till it's ready. Thanks for sharing...Paul
