Listening to every heart

September come November

thus, self forbidding
mizzle to befriend me
in those years paled hoary
there appears an unoccupied
interim of time
where coming aware
splinters of having
lost my way

recall of déjà vu eviscerates,
something potent
gnaws, walls
between then and now
sheer only to opaque,

senility will most likely
clarify what
motions were made, for
snapped memories color decades,
but eye’s grit decrees absence

two fingering dimensional
images does not make
them warm for a second time

I would be a girl again, if
doing so meant mother’s
lap should hold shed
sentiments or
father’s shirt would
gather denimed memories
and clouded outbursts

perhaps once this
decade is fulfilled, I shall
see Octobers again
warming to those days between
September come November
when pain will ease

perhaps once this
decade is fulfilled,

perhaps, once

perhaps

Karilea,
Time is on your side and your memories will serve you well. A comforting read indeed. Thank you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

one of the most touching I've read....thank you ...

I don’t want the world to see me
cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken I just want you to know who I am

Deeper than surfactant beauty....this poem cries from the page, of mixtures of deep emotion, the passing of time and the need to slow it down...love it

Although I like this, I feel I am missing some of the meaning.  My first impression is to say don’t rush the year through, it comes too fast already.

Karilea, this speaks so much to me.  I'm reminded of my grandmother, when she did indeed revert to a little girl in her last days, in her senility.  But, somehow, I thought that a great gift, for it brought me closer to her in the end.  *hugs you*  love ya, SIL

First of all, Karilea is an awesome name. I never heard it before. What pulled me in here is my birthday, November 4th. So naturally I decided to see what you'd write about November only to take with me a vision of a beautiful woman's own heart.

....and maybe, just maybe, it has happened for you already....and it is the pain that's become that two-dimensional memory, made to seem deeper than it has become now, by being painted on the glass of each intervening October for a long long time. I hope so.

Thank you all for reading.  That I posted this on the date I did, speaks for itself.  Some things never leave a person.  I know...I just didn't know in the losing, I would gain so much.

You are all blessed friends and poets.  Thank you for allowing me to be.

And one perhaps blends into another...

Some things are both beautiful and painful... like this. *S*
