I am…

The space between sentences
Tucked amidst what really matters
I know protocol demands two
And two might be more fitting
To depict the volume of my lack
But I’m just one…Just me.

I am…

A bell murmuring in stillness
Stored away, forgotten
Waiting for something to say
When not even a breeze brushes it
And songs of gladness
Are mere memory

I am…

The unused side of a bed
Serving no purpose
Stretched out next to needed
In a game of pretend
Wearing the same soft blankets
But reflecting rejection
Not warm invitation

I am…

The endless pause
After love words are spoken
And  reciprocation
Isn’t offered
When sounds can’t be snatched
Back into unsaid
And body won't drop
Conveniently dead

I am…

An instrument unplayed
In a deserted room
My name’s hidden by dust
And no melody’s made
Only the steady, endless
Staccato reminder that

I am…

Beautiful! Beautiful!

In the past few weeks I've read much poetry, books published by a dozen or more poets....this better than any of them....the best, most moving piece I've seen in a long time.

Laura, you really outdid yourself this time.

...and that label...I can almost make it out..."Antonio Str--" nope, can't quite read it...better dust off that instrument, it looks valuable....

You are...

all things cherished upon
the warming earth.
all thoughts wondered in
reflect.
all words said in silent
whisper..and,  above all...

You are a very talented lady!

Well done.

Suthern beloved one, You are one incredibly special lady, your inner beauty is only matched by your ability to write sheer wonder. I do believe that this is one of your best ever poems, the feel of your soul is etched within these lines darling one.

You are the light that shines
Sunlight glinting on the waves
Caressing each ripple
Gifting each wave with its
Golden beauteous glow

You are the light that glows
Warming my soul
With a promise of home
That warmth illuming
All those who feel your touch

You are the light
And I am drawn ever
To your glowing warmth
Your loving light

Truly this is exceptional writing beloved one I utterly, utterly love this poem by you

Love you lady always

Love and warm stuff
as always
Mushy

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

This was so sad.  I think everyone has felt this way at some time or another so it is easy to identify.  Your analogies were really good and I can feel the pain.  BUT, YOU ARE a beautiful soul, too.  Don't forget that, sweet lady.   ....jo

Magnus: That's beautiful. *S* Thank you so very much!!! *S*

Ruth,
And I am amazed at how you write these days. Wonderful and poignant...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
