Listening to every heart

Illusions’ Dreams

Once there came this bright illusion
a simple fallacy of my heart,
I fell for its deep deception
but its delusions tore me apart.

Wonderment came with the chimera
and strong belief in its fantasy;
Awake would I from hallucination,
away with these delusions from me.

This damn poor bit of humbuggery
this hocus pocus of my heart
ne’ermore a falseness to see,
from this mirage I shall depart.

That figment of imagination,
that trick of love’s liquid streams
the errors seen in the machinations
are only that, a lonesome dream.

The sadness of a disillusioned heart pulls to all who hear the tale.  Well done!  KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

'lonesome dream'
is this the proverbial delusional dream?

I love your new picture...some day I will get someone to take one of me..hard to do in a mirror..I always have one hand with a camera in it, which I have to delete

great poem/image  and especially the last verse:

That figment of imagination,
that trick of love’s liquid streams
the errors seen in the machinations
are only that, a lonesome dream.

When I was a child, I was told that the milkweed seed carries a dream on the wind.

I don't think I have thought about that for at least a half century.  Thanks!

Sunshine,
Must be a day for dreaming
and a windsomeness of heart
re-connected in the streaming
of a poet's words, in part.

Thanks for this, it echoes well.

Milkweed holds a deadly poison....one that stops the heart. Its gift to the world is the Monarch butterfly, that benefits from the exposure, and flys away in its own time, bringing a bit of beauty everywhere it goes.

Very poetic pairing, the weed and the butterfly....

I enjoyed Ed's reply as it added for me to the integrity of the work.

Beautiful, Kari!
