drive

my fingers will carry you forever
they’ll remind me of this suffering
this silent hate
all buckled and rheumatic
like a dump
of rocks

and your nonchalance makes me
want to drive a knuckle through
your temple

my nails are split
my hands like sandpaper
and my throat is full on dark
suggestions

i hold hammers on my hips
to juggle with
in this life of yours i’m living in

The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colour, but the sea, does not change.

"and my throat is full on dark
suggestions"

that's the hardest part--for me--thinking the thoughts and voicing a different me that I don't like...

no jokes this time, luscious.

just know I love you much and understand.

Maree

"in this life of yours i’m living in"

I feel the heat of this and it is as cold as ice!  You have written this so well...I hope that in the writing you earned some peace.

do whispers fill your pillow
with bitter regret
or does indifference cushion
your fall into sleep
look fairly upon your dreams
for the past can be caustic
and pain can pollute memories
leaving only wastelands behind
love possesses nothing
if not the power to hurt
and the years do little
to diminish its strength
hiding love behind malice
will never mend a fracture
and serves only to let us
keep our open wounds

hostage

There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar.

I know that frustration, the casual assumption that your wishes don't matter and your pain doesn't count...but I've never said it in such an excellent way.

now you speak
with your shoes
untied

let me hold
your wrists
as you dance

turn up the music

thanks for sharing this

it's said that violence doesn't solve anything,
but sometimes it can be quite festive.

i, like martie, hope you found a little peace through writing.

it's not that the future is near or far...
the future's just so grim.

I revel in your unique, incredibly crafted posts.  This one is no different.  I wish, however, that some would understand that love is not supposed to hurt.  Your sentiments are communicated brilliantly as always.  I'm in your corner.  Fight the good fight!

Maree?

angels cannot be bound and gagged,
m'friend . . . may your choir flush
the hollow of your throat,
then the rest of us will feel
the grounds shake in echo . . .

Where is your beautiful picture?

Felt it before... but could never say it quite so well.
I went white-knuckled just reading this!
Remind me never to be on your bad side...
