Night brings nurture tainted wither Hospitable and faint of call come hither Reprieving nude of summer swelter Monologue awash in pause and welter All that need be told burns auburn gold The simplest belied in autumns shelter And beat the heart in ebb of throbbing heat Like dread yet caramelized a copycat replete To hush in serpentine regalia spark and pass away Night brings cool its dissidence to hold the heart at bay Copyright Kkh 8/18/04 |
