I Sigh

I sigh the passing of my age
Each laugh and tear upon my page
The passing of reality
The hunt for our veracity

I searched through all the metaphors
The symbols and excelsior’s
The warmth of human coexist
Horizons and the magic mist

I questioned till the question wore
And would not stay my mind of store
It turned to dust before my eyes
And blows within the winds comply

But weather I accept or not
Is non-essential to the plot
It is but minuscule the change
Beyond my comprehends arrange

And though it terminates with me
It does begin again with thee.

imprint of footsteps are never gone...
they just fall beneath another's song
while dust is dust that fills the ages
still, they lend new grist to sages...

Seymour, a wonderful write, I often sigh as well, but then, others will come, may we all not be forgotten and the dust that be us, be watered with the thoughts of our children. Great to see you here my friend, take care and be well.

Sincerely
Rick

Deep Sunday morning ponderings here, dear Seymour.
Yes .... with THEE!
And isn't it so comforting to know?
You are beautiful forever and ever ... the soul won't dance in the dust...it ALWAYS dances in the light.

I do so love the "symbols and excelsior’s" of your poetry.
Love the tender humility of this one Sybabes...and that closing couplet make me Sy-sigh.

Oh, good morning, Sweet Sonneteer!

Your meter was impeccable, your message understood, and you deserve many an honour for the wisdom of your age upon the page.

Ah, to read a poem of yours
Awakens music of many souls.
They echo notes
Since Time's beginning.

In that sharing,
There is winning.

And this is a winning poem you wrote, dear Seymour!   ....jo

Sir Sigh..(Sy)...even after the pillar has
fallen,  the dust will settle gently on the
grounds...brushing from the earth your words
which shall rest within us forever.  Never
fear kind sir...never fear.

You say it well Sy.  A sadness to this that fits somehow.  Enjoyed as always...
