it’s become the norm
silly tricks up sleeves
pushing of ticket machines and cappuccino’s

waiting for september

how easy it would be to stay in the city
riding on wheels through the hills of suburbia
watching handsome young men getting off on
the clickity clack grumble of martin place
with tight little buns stepping out in
calvin jeans and white belt buckles

i don’t need much (i reassure)
a pinch would get me through the
soft side of day

The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colour, but the sea, does not change.

Maree

Sometimes, it's so nice to get away to a place where you can just, be.  That's how this felt to me.  Loved it.  So glad to see a poem from you!

Only that? A nice place to begin, maybe.... and I can't imagine that wish going unfulfilled!

This is almost as gorgeous as the poet! Your observational skills are fantastic here, and with that wistful ending, you're irresistible.

Brava Luscious One!

The soft side of the day is a nice place to be, if only we could stay longer than.

Sweet, Maree~

While I see the humor in this..I see something deeper as well, which speaks to a sadness and a feeling of not quite....

then again, I have been told I think too much....

in any case, it is always a pleasure to read your words...

Nice write.  Don't know how this one squeeked by me.  Don't know if you'd like it here.  We wear mostly Wranglers and large metal belt buckles.  But I've heard it said by some women about cowboys' butts.  Who knows?  I like a girls butt in Calvins.  That's nice to see.  Does that count?  I would have categorically agreed with your writing if you would have wrote it from a man's perspective.  However, my security in my sexuality, I suppose, only goes so far.  I just can't agree on guy butts!  Lots of laughs came from this one!  Fun read.

I read this several times, each time I had felt a feeling of melancholy that no words could be found to blame. Kind of like hearing the nuance of a grand piano when you are looking at an upright.

wonderful mmy dear
