I ran to the shores of Rome
finding my way home
even if their spirits
hunt me
and all of human anxiety

I find this very mysterious and effective. The Rome has so many reasons why it can be home and a place of spirits and a depository of human anxiety. Without personal revelation from the poet I will never know the hidden meanings, but I will be haunted though the intertwining of these words and my imagination.

Angelus. . . the catacombs of Rome. . . the hidden things that are in all of us. . . the hidden pain, the longing. . . the things that we have yet to find. . .

Angelus. . . Angel. . . us. . .
