We, the People We, the people of this planet, are the advenced ones. We, the people of this world, can solve our own problems. We, the people of this country, feel stress and grief. We, the people of this province, can't decide what's to be done about anything. We, the people of this region, step on faces and hug others. We, the people of this town, can feel sorrow and grief. We, the family of this house, hold our faces in our hands. I, the soul of my body, scream night and day, in a void of anguish and pain. We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar Shape without form, shade without color, Paralyzed force, gesture without motion; --T.S. Eliot |

This was wonderful work!! People are strange when you look at it like you did, and we all have the pain in the last stanza though we try not to succumb to often I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn..... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

This is fantastic! A real attack on society and contemporary morals. The way you compare the hybris of mankind in general with the lost, frightened individual who nobody cares about is enviable. I like the way you start with the "best" at the top and then slowly lead us down the the total anticlimax. There's so much in this poem I could go on for hours ... Yes kid it is injust, that we stand on We the people. Oh the people. a great poem on this kid. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
