The day is drawing near, Why am I filled with fear? Some say it's a time of wonderful freedom, From others you only hear doom and gloom. The day is drawing near, What do I want to hear? People say the days-months-years fly by, I was hoping they would FINALLY have the proper amount of time in them. The day is drawing near, Nothing is clear. Haven't I done my part for the world? Isn't it time to soak up some rays on a warm, humid island? The day is drawing near, It's those Puritan ancestors I hear! How selfish! There's work to be done! The world is full of sinners! The day is drawing near, Down, you damned fears! A whole lifetime ahead-30, maybe 40 years. Plenty of time to decide what it all means. |

~Can't say that I relate just yet,..but I have to say that you have done an amazing job expressing your thoughts here. I sensed your hope for this and fears still there. Hang in there...it'll be great if you let it. |

Haaahaaahaaaheeheee Sometimes the fact (and this will sound terribly selfish and awful, but I know you will forgive me  ) that you are a real person outside of being who I think of you as knocks me flat on my keister!!!I love how you rhymed the middle sections, and spoke in your own voice around it. And the line about Puritans is really good, too!!! Ummm, can I come with you to that humid island? I could carry luggage, slice mangos, etc...... |
