Slowly the darkness settles Drowning the sun in the depths of Far off mountain peaks I snuggle into my pillow Drowning in my loneliness Tears slipping from my eyes Holding myself I sob Why me? Why you? What could I have done? My tears slow then stop My breathing begins to soften As sleep overtakes me again I wake to see a sunrise And feel the weight no more My heart is full of happiness There you stand Arms outstretched Gathering me to your chest I heave a sigh of relief Back in the place that I like best Safe and secure in our love You whisper you love me I reply in kind Visions of eternity ensconce me Suddenly a clamor Pulls you from my arms Tearing out my heart with you I cover my ears My minds screams NO Not again, please not again Dappled sunlight dances Through the curtains over my bed As I pull the pillow down from my eyes I turn off the alarm And softly whisper good-bye As the dream fades and life continues Dance like no one's watching. Love like it's never going to hurt. If it does hurt, shoot em! <Grin> |

I loved this poem. It sucks wakeing up from a dream that feels so real, exspecially when you're happy. Blessed Be Kat |

You describe your loneliness before going to sleep and your pain of saying goodbye to your dream so well, to end with a very down to earth "and life continues". I enjoyed this very much. Very well written. |

My dreams are filled with my love in my arms, as I hold my pillow at night, these dreams are not welcomed, but pull the very essence from me. I don't say good bye, but curse it for returning, to make me bleed again. your poem is very heartfelt, and to the bone. Joel.< !signature--> I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. [This message has been edited by Joel the wolf (edited 05-05-2000).] |

Such longing, such saddness for a lost love that has appeared to you in dreams and upon awakening gone. Tracie~ Love is the life of the soul... It is the harmony of the universe |
