Lost Memories I couldn't remember the birthdays. the anniversaries, the holidays, or special events. I couldn't remember the days, so long ago, when first we met, courted, and married. I forgot the parties, the trips, the vacations, the good, the bad, the in-between. I forgot all the days of just sitting together, looking, talking, touching, of being just you and I. But now you're gone, and all I have left are the things I forgot. The memories I'm desperately trying to remember. W. James Beard, Jr. |

~WooHoo.....this is great. Not that you feel like that but just how true it is....how you've captured that. We most often oversee the simple things....and get annoyed at times with things that we'd miss if we no longer had. I truly enjoyed this piece...It actually makes me think of a friend I lost to a terrible accident (sadly) but, I would always tell him how certain mannerisms and habits that he had drove me nuts and now, today I miss those things....miss everything annoying he ever did. I take it this is about losing someone in a different way, but here.....I just let you in on what this poem brought out of me. |

It is the simple things is'nt it. We forget. I still hear my kids calling me. Thanks . Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
