I very gently reach out to scratch behind it’s ears
hoping not to unrest it breathing it’s slumber
hoping to keep it in a sedated state and all it’s fears.

This passionate beast within
lay’s curled sleeping like a baby
still dancing in it’s  elated dreams
not knowing that being created was a sin.

Oh God it rises this murderess beast
looking around knowing it’s name and
time is now, searching raw emotional flesh
caring not for human frailty’s in the least.

With mussels bulging jaws agape
searching the strings of hope, or eternal abyss
lips curled back teeth bared
eyes blinded with a annihilated bliss.

I jerk back on the chains that bind it and... I
holding on as hard as I can being dragged
throughout this forest of emotions and rocky
cavernous cannons below, surly I’ll... die.

Telling it yelling lies screaming, crying I shout
it rocks to a halt no worse for the ware
it lay’s down I tremble of it’s awesome power
this passion of love is sedated for now...I doubt.

I howl a mornful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Joel, this one is just amazing. Great visualizations, and so much feeling. I loved every word of it.

This is Great Joel.  All of your works are wonderful!

hi joel,

i'm so glad that i looked til i found this one.  you do truly understand 'indifference?' don't you?  along the way (while looking for this one) i read many of your others.  pain and longing it seems frees  us to write the most beautiful things.  when the day comes that your white dove comes freely to you - will be cause for much celebration.  until then, be ready for much pain.

Is this a reference to the beast within...thus the name, Joel the wolf?

Powerful writing.  The inner-self is someone we all need to get to know and understand.  Thanks for sharing.

Hey Skit, haha I guess this is ?? a long time answering. haha but thank you. I must have been of being dragged by this beast with my mind going south. haha

Broken, yea to you to, I completely forgot about this one. until someone brought it up? haha But thank you.

Dhuron, no my friend not all. I have good days and bad.

Helena, yes I have this beast, but tamed?? not by a long shot, it drags me down a brier patch every day.

Nameless, sit up straight. don’t fall off.

Sheba, you must have gotten cobwebs on your PC looking for this one. haha
and you are right, sheba, pain is each breath I take without her, it's so easy to give up, but I'm a fighter, when I'm sick I work out harder, when I'm wet I run faster, and when I'm down I fight with no mercy,
Thanks for the recap kid.

Jana, yes I think your right, I had always called my inner power a beast, in love, in hate, in passion, in faith, some won’t understand that, it is uncontrollable at times like a wild beast with no training, just something you can hold on to with your finger tips, hoping it doesn’t do any harm.

Thanks Necro, yes I talk in, ?? parables.

Thanks all, a little late but thanks anyway. haha

Joel.

Very impressive work!  I love how you've intertwined the physical with the emotional, in lines such as

I jerk back on the chains that bind it and... I
holding on as hard as I can being dragged
throughout this forest of emotions and rocky
cavernous cannons below, surly I’ll... die.

Very awesome and powerful use of symbolism in this one!

Isis, yes you can trust him with more than that, you have proven to be a friend listing to all my ramblings, and when I'm down. haha
god only knows how big your ears are. ahahaha,, If they match your heart then you could fly.
Thanks my cyber adopted child, or I should say young lady. haha anyway. thank you.

a-alibaster, yes your right not so deep lies within me, a beast I've tried to harness all my life, it has guided me through love affairs, death, jobs, and god.
My beast of passion knows no fear, I jump into whatever I do with both feet be damned the consequences, or my heart.
I have never been bored a minuet in my life, I have been lonely but never board.
and I like your sig.

~007, thanks, and yes the both fit, but I'd rather be beat up physically, than emotionally,
I understand physical pain, I've trained for it all my life, I've stitched myself up when stabbed, break bricks with an open back hand, pierced my body with spokes to hold buckets of water, but to be rejected by a loved one seems to kill me.  I have no
way to fight the unseen. crud.
