There is a time for laughter
And a time for tears
There is a time for memories
To reflect on the years
There is a time for questions
That make you ask why
But now it is time
That I say good-bye

Sitting at my window
While at my new place
I think nothing's left for us
Except empty space
What will I do now
How can I replace
The sheer pleasure I got
From the smile on your face

I'll treasure the memories
Of the times we have shared
Just please my dear Lynn
Please know that I cared
So deeply for you
And unlike no other
My love was complete
And more than a brother

I do not take joy
In this that I do
But I do it for me
And I do it for you
You can not see clearly
With me in the way
That's why I must leave
And no longer stay

It pains me so much
That we have to part
But I walk now away
With my heavy heart
It's just for the best
That I make a new start
And maybe find some one
Who'll inspire my art

If our paths cross again
It'll be truly fate
But I can't help but wonder
If now it's too late
The bad blood between us
Is causing a state
Of anger and mistrust
Which breeds only hate

That's why I think leaving
Is the logical answer
Because I love you so dearly
My little miss dancer
You need to now go
And live your life
And I need to now find
A relief from my strife

Now for every beginning
There must be an end
And in every last road
There's always a bend
So please hear these words
And the message they send
Good-bye to you
My dearest friend

At first, I was worried you were saying goodbye to Passions, when I read the title.
Instead a gut wrenchingly sad poem, it brought tears to my eyes hon. Sooo sad.
Sorry things didn't work out, and if you need to talk you know where I am  *hugs*

such great work...i'am using this as a card...for sure...
"If our paths cross again
It'll be truly fate
But I can't help but wonder
If now it's too late
The bad blood between us
Is causing a state
Of anger and mistrust
Which breeds only hate"

painful but true

Thank you both for the responces. I wrote this for somebody who I love deeply but can't. So I have to let her go, for her sake and my piece of mind. I just wish she loved me as much as I do her. Oh well. Thanks again.

Isis: Thanks once again for the offer. Maybe one of these days when I'm all setteled in at my new appartment I'll take you up on it. I think I'll blow your mind when you find out the things that have inspired my writing. ;-)

Avanti: I would be honored if you used my words in a card. Thank you for such a great compliment.

Excellent poem. It touched me where not many things have. It must be hard to let go of someone you love!! :0

I really feel for you because I know it is a tough decision to make...to break up or stay together and try to make things right..James

I've always thought the  good bye was the  truest test of love, sometimes you have  to love someone  enought  to let go... Great poem wonderfully written

 Mystical being
which makes ink flow
Surround me in
your incandescent glow
Fill my brain with
thoughts and rhyme
As I try to capture
but a moment in time

I love your work, I also had to let go after a 20 year hitch.

“If our paths cross again
It'll be truly fate
But I can't help but wonder
If now it's too late
The bad blood between us
Is causing a state
Of anger and mistrust
Which breeds only hate”

No truer words have been spoken.
Joel.

This was soo sad, but I could see where you were coming from.
You are a very unselfish man not only for her but also for yourself.
Nice Poem, well written.

Wow, I didn't expect to get such a responce from my heart ache. Thank you all so much. Your support means the world to me.

sports2girl: Ya, it is hard letting go of some one you love. It was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do. But I think the hadrest thing for me was realizing that she'll never love me the way that I do her and for that I had to let her go. Thank you for your reply. I'm glad you like my work.

jmlee12345: You're right. It killed me to have to do that. But like the old saying goes, "if you love something, set it free". Thank you.

Isis: It will and thank you for being there.

Starrgazer: This is true. I just kick myself for being so wrong about her, but I love her none the less. Oh well, hopefully one of these days I'll find another. Wish me luck. Thanks!

Joel the wolf: Wow, 20 years. That must have been tough. Tell me, how are you now after having done it? Thanks for your reply.

Sea: Hello sea. I didn't mean to make you cry, but I glad to know that I was able to put my feelings into writing so that others could feel and relate to what I am going through. Thank you so much.

Tracie66: Thank you Tracie for seeing that. Everybody keeps telling that I should be more selfish. But I don't know that I can be that way. It's just not me. I suppose that path only leads to disappointment, being unselfish that is, but I just can't believe that to be true. Thank you again.

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart, what ever is left of it...lol. I thank God for letting me find this web site and all you wonderfull people. I don't think I'll ever be able to say good-bye to Passions nor do I want to. I look forward to reading and replying to more of your works and hearing what you have to say about mine. This is the only place that I've found that's willing to help me through this tough time. Thank you.

Great Poem.

So full of sorrow and heartache, nobody should have to go through that.  Hoping to read more of your work soon.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson
