The Bird's Dying Song |

I sit and listen to the bird's dying song, She knows her time is nigh, The thorn has pierced her heart, Her song sad, yet echoing on high. My heart it echoes her pain, Though my wound is not visible, Together we share the throes of death, The pain not releasable. Her song still beautiful, Shows her love and innocence, As I've tried to show mine, We struggle now to breathe, yet reminise. Both know only pain, But can't understand why, We both don't want to go, Don't want to say goodbye. Some force has linked me to her, As our lives slowly ebb away, We sing a new song now, Free from pain, now only knowing joy this day. Our song it quietens, So hard now to hit that note, Beacons from heaven call to us, Our souls begin to float. She takes my hand, And looks at me, with a smile in her eye, Together we are at peace now, Together we will fly. There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |
