Whose reflection in the mirror..... Yesterday I looked in the mirror and saw me Today I look in the mirror what do I see I see a stranger, a person I do not know Who is this person with the tears that flow The bloated cheeks the red rimmed eyes So troubled torn and so unwise Can this be the face I know so well It looks like a demon back from hell I reach out to the mirror and try to see If this person I'm looking at is really me But yes the truth it must be told Its me alright and I look so old What has caused this change in face From one so young and full of grace A sickness maybe thats caused such pain Like a puff to a candle that blows out the flame Its not an illness that a pill can sort Nor a quick remedy that can be bought Its a lingering pain that eats at your heart Gets to your head and thats just the start I hope in time my reflection will return To the young woman for whom I so yearn A face both normal shining and bright Not one that looks like its been in a fight That day will come and soon I'm sure But until it does I'll just close the door Try to hide from the hurt and the pain My life and my senses to once more re-gain Sandra x |

Sandra~ This was well written.I have wondered the same thing before while looking in the mirror. The one thing that I have learned is that hiding from the hurt and pain does not make it go away it just makes it stick around longer. To make it go away you have to work your self through it. Good luck ~Angie |

This was great !!! When I look in the mirror I don't see me either I see someone who is living the life everyone said she should but is desperately aching to fly ... and one day I will Mystical being which makes ink flow Surround me in your incandescent glow Fill my brain with thoughts and rhyme As I try to capture but a moment in time ~Shan~ |

Thank you to the three of you for your comments. Yes I think we all have looked in the mirror at some time and struggled to recognise the person in the reflection. I've moved on now since then but I do remember what its like to think that way. Best Wishes to all of you!! Sandra x |
