Please don't tell me life is fair, My only friend is named despair, My daddy "tweaks", my momma's dead, Who I've replaced in daddy's bed, Daddy loves me, or so he said, Now he's got Aids, soon I'll be dead, School counsellors, God what a joke, They're more concerned, the pot I smoke, Like I would tell, about my life, That I've become my daddy's wife, "She suffers from, depression's well," Cannot they see, I live in hell? Just turned fourteen, feel sixty-eight, I wonder who, I am to hate? It matters not, I just don't care, My only friend, is named despair. [This message has been edited by Mike (edited 03-30-2000).] |

They call me the sunhine girl lol...so my wonderful words of wisdom are..please never give up, keep fighting, and hang on until tomorrow. This was VERY VERY good and quite powerful!!! AMY  ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

The repetition of My only friend is named despair really brings out the pain that hte author was feeling! I say excellent heartfelt words!! But please don't be so sad! Life is only so short live everything the best you can! Life should be happy and fun!! You can make it through life being happy!! Try it!! |

Mike, I know you are witness to so many sad lives...and that they affect you deeply...they color your poetry and I'm sure your view of the beauty of the day. Very moving poem...and hugs, my friend. |

Mike, this was a very moving poem. I truely hope that this hasn't been brought upon you...if so, be strong. There are people in the world who will be your friend, don't limit yourself to despair. The poem was great even if it was sad! Love is our greatest weakness but when it's found, it's our greatest strength. |
