~~~ This one is kind of old but I figured that I'd post it anyway...thanks for reading ~~~ You walk along the empty streets of cold stone, as the song plays louder in your head A michevious smile forms across your face as you look upon an innocent, searching the depths of her soul while quickening your speed in deep anticipation You stop a few feet away and when you see her startled expression you flash her a reassuring smile to calm her ever explosive nerves So trustworthy you are to her innocent brown eyes Like a devil you take it in, still staying in your disguise You think it's so wonderful, plotting it out in your head While walking her home since her ride never came So cute she looks, and so timid and shy Like a mouse that wandered out into the night A mouse that will now be devoured by a hawk And now as the hawk comes in for the the kill, she grabs him with great force and pulls his head back to the side She whispers goodnight before sinking her teeth deep into his neck Drinking away his life and then dropping him on the ground She blows him a kiss, and then casually walks away Disappearing out into the night, the lioness out hunting her prey "The dark weight of the hour humming madly filling my head with blood and sorrow and dread the executioner's song." -Jewel "The Dark Bells" ~*Angel of Darkness*~ |
Thank you all very, very much! I don't think I could ever write books...but I do love poetry. Thanks again! "The dark weight of the hour humming madly filling my head with blood and sorrow and dread the executioner's song." -Jewel "The Dark Bells" ~*Angel of Darkness*~ |
Loved the twist too, shock value!! An oldy but a goody!! There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |
Exellent as usual. I loved the twist to, but in a way I knew it would turn, it was too bright compared to other poems you have written until the turn. ************ So cute she looks, and so timid and shy Like a mouse that wandered out into the night A mouse that will now be devoured by a hawk And now as the hawk comes in for the the kill, she grabs him with great force and pulls his head back to the side She whispers goodnight before sinking her teeth deep into his neck Drinking away his life and then dropping him on the ground ************** Once again, great poem! |
Wow..*shivering* that one had me in suspense. Great I love this one. The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship." --Ralph Waldo Emerson |
Awesome writing, DE. Just goes to show ya... things aren't always what they seem. |
