DESTINY

What would you do if I told you
There was no earth or sky.
Would you see that they've sold you
A life based on a lie.

While you suffer today
For the dreams of tomorrow.
They diminish and decay
At the hands of sorrow.

And as tomorrow seems to drift
To reflections of yesterday.
We weakly chase the hands, so swift,
Of time slipping away.

What would you do if I showed you
A sun that never shined.
Would you see that they've snowed you
By this life running blind?

Would you wake up to the fact
That life, itself, is the dream,
And you can't interact
With a voice that can't scream?

For you may see yourself falling,
But catch yourself and fly.
But you can't answer your calling,
When you're destined to die.

Well, Michael, I dont know what to say. This is wonderfully done, and I feel I have run out of words to praise you. I feel that I am just being repetative in saying excellent poem, but I know not how to keep expressing it differently with the flood of exquisite poetry you bring upon these forums. You are an amazing writer... I need to keep telling you that because I'm stunned everytime I read another poem of yours and discover that it was just as good as the last one!!!!

And yes, we are all destined to die..... but by being born... we're also destined to live... SMILE
