Standing at the edge of the abyss I stare out into the darkness It seems to stretch for miles around There is not even a hint of the light Exactly how does one become drawn to the abyss To find its emptiness looming before him? It is a long rough road that leads To the mountain high...filled with rocks and weeds The path is overgrown with foliage For the way is not meant to be easy If you find yourself on the cliff It is not a mistake; it is the hand of fate Only fate knows if you will live or will die How much pain your heart can take Before the final good-bye is uttered And you sacrifice your soul to the darkness Sometimes the pain is more than you can bear No matter how hard you search for the light There just is none there Endless agony, angst, and torment beyond compare Fill your days and haunt your nights Stay with you in dark and in light They permeate your very being And take away your life's meaning |

Welcome again Lone Wolf!! This first posting was good. I was a little worried about the lack of rhyming, but you seemed to loosen up as the poem progressed. Reminds me of the song, 'What becomes of the broken hearted!' Well done May the world hug you today, With it's warmth and love. I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart, That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world, Wishing you well and wishing you love...... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

hello and WELCOME to Passions..very nice to have you here... Only fate knows if you will live or will die How much pain your heart can take Before the final good-bye is uttered And you sacrifice your soul to the darkness Sometimes the pain is more than you can bear No matter how hard you search for the light There just is none there Endless agony, angst, and torment beyond compare ----- this poem IS excellent..you have expressed the deep loneliness so very well...perfect poem for here in the dark... very good take care,jm Now for me some words come easy But I know that they don't mean that much Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch You never knew what I loved in you I don't know what you loved in me Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be jackson browne |

demonic~angel...thanks for the encouragement and offer to talk...very nice of you. I will keep it in mind. The loneliness comes and goes. That day it was very present for me. Glad to be a part of passions and have people to share it all with. Kim...thank you. They are from the soul and seem to just pour out of me. |

Hey hey !!! Welcome to Passions ... Sometimes the pain is more than you can bear No matter how hard you search for the light There just is none there Endless agony, angst, and torment beyond compare Fill your days and haunt your nights Stay with you in dark and in light They permeate your very being And take away your life's meaning these lines were wonderful great job !!! Again, welcome. . . Perhaps you should not look down into the abyss, lest you be taken down with the one that you're looking at... perhaps you should look across at the other side and see that across even the deepest abyss, a bridge can be built. . .a bridge to a new life.. . Excellent words. . . -------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Sven...perhaps you are right and a bridge can be built across. Time will tell. Maybe I am trying to save the one below so that we can start a new life. Just a thought. Creature...thank you and I feel so at home. Yes, there is more to come. A few are in open also. Friends are friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them and a friend will not say never cause the welcome will not end. --Michael W. Smith |
