Tragic Fantasize Between the folds of my sheets at night there lies a breaking heart the end of a day of immovable thoughts; a bitter friend from the start a twist, a turn, a fluttering eye, a cheek with trail of tears this empty well, so sullen and void; a pain towards which I stare How I felt last night, a star lost bright, amiss and ‘oneness’ rained the heart as only a Fist in size, yet a mountain emotion drained and wake the morn with the painful scorn of a silence in her speak words I no longer hear in her disappear; only stillness, step, and creak An untruth confessed, a love professed, warmth reacheth within the soul but her heart’s abide her past’s denied and clear from Cupid’s hold “Get up!” I say, “and start your day,” but sometimes I cannot lift the weight slave of my own heart, I knew from the start, this walk is an uphill fate Still I’ll dream you’re near and hope I’ll hear the sweet sound of your call I’ll pretend you care to see me here...(sigh)...............it hurts to take this fall Yet love conquers all, still truths befall under the frail of simple guise so hold my heart, on near, my love, my dear, this tragic fantasize |

well, as you know I loved this the first time I read it...but I like this versions presentation as well. sometimes we can write the same poem 5 different ways. take care ,jm Now for me some words come easy But I know that they don't mean that much Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch You never knew what I loved in you I don't know what you loved in me Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be jackson browne |
