I remember the days of summer When you and I were happy The grass smelled sweet And you would put flowers in my hair We would aimlessly watch As the clouds rolled by Never stopping to think Of what tomorrow might bring I miss those lazy summer days Mostly because you were gone when autumn came And I was left behind To pick up the pieces. |

When you said you were left to pick up the pieces, I got the image of you picking up dried leaves. Autumn and all. Dry leaves; what oh what can you do with dry leaves even after you do all the work to pick them up. Because he is gone. I can see how much you miss those summer days!  Joy |
