I can no longer see my reflection Every morning in the mirror I see a different girl Who is she? What is that longing in her eyes? Her face is stricken with sorrow She is hunched forward As if the weight of a thousand men rests upon her shoulder Now she begins to cry Tears streaming down her pale face But as I taste the salty tear I realize that I am the girl Tired and worn Lost and confused Lonely and desperate No longer filled with innocence But with regrets from the past And now she slips away Into the dark and lonely shadows Taking hope with her Where has she gone? Where has she taken hope to? Will it return? Where is the girl? Where is she? She is gone. Gone. Never to return Engulfed by sorrow No more pain No more suffering Gone. |

Wow- sounds like me nearly. I often look in the mirror and try to figure out what happened to me. It is like a guilt trip we experience at one time or another. |
