I'll hold you to that Michael,
Your promise to possum hunt with me,
If ever you make it over here,
To my land across the sea.

But I saved the best for now,
We'll play another game,
Known round Oz as Toad Whacking,
Always fun and never the same.

You see Toads aren't natural here,
They were imported early last century,
To eat bad bugs in our crop fields,
But now they've taken over you see.

They are a menace,
Our country is overpopulated with them,
Even the suburban backyards,
Are inundated with them.

They look like frogs in body shape alone,
They are an ugly brown with warts,
They spit poisonous venom at you,
That kills any other animal, any sort.

We grew up having toad nights,
When outback we'd all enmasse,
With cricket bats, golf clubs or baseball bats,
Whacking them for a six across the grass.

You score if you really mess one up,
No points if he just hops away,
Oh those childhood summer nights,
Whacking those bloody toads away.

So if you come on over,
Make sure it's in Summer,
We'll have a few drinks first,
Then show those toads life is a bummer!!

Now don't get me wrong I love animals,
I never hurt a living thing,
But toads my friends are different,
Killing them is a good thing.

You are protecting pets and wildlife,
From their poison spit,
And God you really laugh,
When those toads are really hit!!

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THOSE TOADS ARE A NATIONAL PROBLEM A FEW YEARS AGO YOU COULD KILL THEM AND TAKE A BAG OF THEM TO THE CITY COUNCIL AND GET SO MUCH MONEY PER TOAD.  THEY ARE HAZARDOUS AND SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED TO AUSTRALIA.  UNLIKE RABBITS AND NOISY MINER BIRDS WHO WERE ALSO WRONGLY INTRODUCED WE WOULD NOT HURT THEM, ONLY THE TOADS.

I MAINLY WROTE THIS TO MAKE MICHAEL LAUGH ABOUT MY AUSSIE ANIMALS WE WERE TALKING ABOUT LAST NIGHT.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Glad it got a smile Michael
Sven, if you make it here in Summer it's a date.  As adults though we'll need a few drinks to get really enthusiastic like the kids do.  LOL

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......
