‘Tis them that I fear With their old fashioned ways, Taking us back To the old fashioned days. ~ They pull at your heart And tear at your mind, Causing fear and confusion A terror thats blind. ~ They offer you things That cannot console, Then it’s me that does hold you, When you fall in a hole. ~ A husband so cruel As he whips them along, He plays and controls With the devils own song. ~ I look at you weeping Your hands all a shake, I look for the sense That this torture does make. ~ I imagine your smile And your beautiful hair, Your wonderful eyes Just bubbling with care. ~ Your laughter it echo’s Through the edge of my mind, Near the mem’ries of us That we left behind. ~ I cling to the feeling We have when we’re near, Then choke down the pain The confusion and fear. ~ I try not to worry They’ll take you from me, And pray for a future The one that I see. Slow Down, stop to smell the roses and stroll through the garden of life, it will be a more pleasurable experience. |
