Let's back up
and take a look at
the whole picture,
not just certain,
meaningless pieces.

Can you see what I see?
The suffering, pain, and hurt
can be clearly seen.

Can you feel what I feel?
The depression of losing a
close, loved one can strongly be felt.

Can you touch what I touch?
The soft skin of a misunderstood human
who is now a recluse to the world
because of prejudice.

Can you hear what I hear?
The constant crying of a
poor, lost soul,
trying to find its way out
of a hell that remains unknown.

Can you smell what I smell?
The distinct stench of failure
and hoplessness is in the air.

Can you taste what I taste?
The undeniable taste of fallen tears
that gently fall on your lips.

Can you understand what I understand?
The human soul is so
fragile and needs to be
handled with care.

I guess you can't...
But maybe one day you can see, feel, touch,
hear, taste, and understand what I have already
learned.

I'm so proud of you! This is great...one of your best. And yeah, I can definetly feel your pain...understand, smell, feel, touch, and all those other things. Great job! Isn't it amazing that the most depressing experiences bring out the best poetry?

Wow This was a wonderful poem. It really makes you realize how much other people are suffering and that we can't be indifferent towards them. A beautiful poem.

wonderful expression about prejudice. i think if we experience people instaed of being afraid we will realize that everyone is the same inside and we shouldnt exclude anyone from our life. my theory is that if i exclude you from my life i am denying myself of something you could have added to my life. great poem. thanks for sharing it.

What an excellent poem! I am new here, and already, I feel right at home!! This poem had so much though, truth, and expression that was put into it. I have learned alot from it...... Can't wait to see your next one!
