Iris

A delicate young flower
Rose from her repose
Just as her feet
Were getting wet
Her radiate face
In soft luscious shades
Of purple and lavender
Held high
On her graceful green stalk
Quiet and alone
The sunlight of today
Slowly evaporates the
Pools of moisture
That have gathered there
On her dew kissed cheeks
Her roots growing deeper
She stand alone
Basting in the sunshine

Knowing there will be
Tears again tomorrow

I relate this poem to people as well as flowers.  I find it sweetly touching.

Great imagery and comparisons here well done

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Thank you for your nice comments. I see every flower having a personality all it's own just as people do. Each flower has it's own unique qualities, and various kinds of environments, in which they grow best. Some need a little more tending then others in order to flourish, some just spring up between cracks in the sidewalk and shine. LOL I think I feel another poem coming on!
