~Theres Some Place Else I'd Rather Be~ There's a warm breeze blowing, yet, still I feel a chill. these feelings surge right through me, they take me against my will. Once precious commitments... they now all leave me cold. Time is passing so swiftly and I wont be here when I'm old. I look out at the nite and see- theres someplace else, I'd rather be... somewhere along the line, HE, became a part of ME. This is all wrong, its breaking all the rules, how many times now, has love made us all-- look like fools. but even now, I look at you and see-there's someplace else I'd rather be. Words and hurt get tangled, so much is left untold, but I listen to my heart and know... I wont be here ... when I'm old. Janet Marie "Bring it on baby what you getting into... I swear at once it was the little things that mattered-- But it all seems true to you. Say the hell with my name and say the hell with my picture... but swear, for the one time you need me around. And here I'll stand like it matters... Only once love gets through then gets scattered by the rain... But pain gives me the right to be unkind"... Tabitha's Secret |

Nice work as always. I'm a fool for falling in love, but you have to learn from your foolish experiences. Much love, One love, PEACE |

Unfortunately, age is relative, and I already feel old, still where I don't want to be. Are you reading my thoughts, Janet Marie or are you just really that good? Ok, you are really THAT good! |

I've felt this way too JanetMarie. Is it true knowledge or fanciful dreams? Why are so many of us ever discontent? You raised a lot of questions here. Great piece *Namaste* May the world hug you today, With it's warmth and love. I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart, That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world, Wishing you well and wishing you love...... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Very well written Janet. I like this one alot and could relate to it fully (except for the "he" part but I replaced it with "she"). Thank you for sharing it! G Regret not that which you have done, Rather that which you haven't |

You know, I stayed in a bad marriage for many years for a gazillion different reasons, and in the end, they all ended up wasted years. You only live once and you may die tomorrow - if there's somewhere else to be, head on don't look back. Just my opinion, of course. Lot of depth in this poem - I hope I understood it right, now that I've blurted out my own personal horror story...LOL Michael |

I have to agree with Michael here. . . you have always go forward. . . never looking back. . . because regret is a cruel mistress. . . --------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

i hear ya. that was deep, hon. i like. i know that feeling and it does feel so wrong but sometimes the right thing is the hardest thing. ) the last lines are, i think, very well done. (that sounds so vague but i can't quite put my finger on why it hit me so hard...maybe cuz i've been there and i can feel it in my heart again...i don't know...) but...wow...once again. ) |

I really need to stop reading your writing, I feel like I'm back about two years. Do you know things about my life no one else here knows or what! Kelly I love the male body, it's better designed than the male mind.---Andrea Newman |

I know this feeling very well, a resistance somewhere inside, that doesn't match what's happening. Well expressed. I especially enjoyed the line, "somewhere along the line, HE, became a part of, ME" So true, sometimes you just travel so quickly that you aren't aware of who you are with. Nicely done. marc |

~Janet Marie~ Girlfriend, you NEVER cease to amaze me...This was awesome! I too have been in this very place, and can relate all too well to the meaning of this piece. The following stanza stood out especialy for me "This is all wrong, its breaking all the rules, how many times now, has love made us all-- look like fools" YES sometimes love does make us look like fools. But personally for me I'd rather have loved and "lost" than to have never loved at all. Amazing work as always. I feel I can learn much from you! As always your work is enjoyable. Well done, although women are not the only ones who have this happen. It veriers from person to person but you put into word well. There's a peace inside us all Let it be your friend It will help you carry on In the end There's a peace inside us all -Creed |

Or? Perhaps we won't feel old when we are THERE. |
