I feel like an ancient tree,
Too wonderous left to stand,
You chop leaving only debris,
Lying on the sand.

Destroyer of hope,
No thoughts,your decision,
Can't you see what you do?
Lending venom with unending prescision.

Then I am not allowed to object,
Must take my medicine quietly,
And when I do object as I must,
I am behaving disobediently.

As a child you say,
No better than a five year old,
At least I have grace,
That will stay with me until I am old.

Ruler, Dominator,
Such power you possess,
Is it true you hold the reins?
The answer isn't worth a guess.

You can only rule over so much,
Dominate so much of me,
The rest belongs elsewhere,
Where I am loved, where I am free.

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

Isis, this is very good and thought provoking... I think I figured out who your talking to in this one...I've said the same things to the same person...if I guessed right..(smile)
take care, janet marie

take your time...there will be another...
and dont make the same mistake twice...

Someone may control only as much as you are willing to give.  Excellent work Isis, and a powerful message to boot.

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

James I hope you don't think it is I who has a hard heart?  That would be devastating.

Certainly not Isis.  The one with the hard heart is the one who attempts to control someone else's life that is close to them.  I believe that the only person that can bring about change in our life is ourself.  And this requires all of our attention and dedication.  And so, if we lose our focus and take our eyes from our own journey and instead focus on anothers journey we have failed ourselves.  We no longer improve and grow.  We have lost our purpose.  We have taken on the role of a taskmaster, a controller, and a manipulator.  We are so busy controlling another that we lose control of our own life, we lose sight of our goals and our purposes.  Isis, I believe that you have a soft and loving heart.   James

Forceful and Powerful Lisa.
We can only be dominated if we allow it.
