fire goddess

lying here with book in hand,
a blanket warms my feet.
the fire dances and calls my name,
alone and incomplete.

flames jump and whisper to me,
as a goddess comes alive.
a glow about her passioned face,
as she stares into my eyes.

stepping from the embered coals,
she slides along my side.
and beckons me to come to her,
and lay my book aside.

drink within my pleasures sweet,
she softly speaks to me.
feel the warmth i have to share,
come and sip my luxury.

make sweet love by the light i give,
be drunkened by my wine.
the flames of passion rising high,
as our souls become entwined.

the fire fades about the room,
my goddess slips beneath the coals.
i grasp the blanket and smell of her,
staring blindly at my soul.

WOW!!
this one Excellent!!!..so full of imagery and expression,
you must be very inspired this weekend Mo...both of these poems are SO good!!
I feel like I was sitting by the fire this one is so decriptively written.
take care, janet marie

 In the time we've known
That we each are a part of one another
We've lost as much as we have won...

And as our lives have grown
We have found that it only brings us pain
To hang on to the things that we have done...

***Still I love the times you've come***

Gosh, this is beautiful, moving, warming and yearning.   I absolutely adored this your winter's fantasy.   Bravo

LoL at jmlee! anyway, what more can i say that hasn't been said already. warm and sensual imagery, soft flow, a beautifully ramantic fantasy. one of your best.

Something has to change. An undeniable dilemma. But I am not a burden anyone should bear.
