BY LOVE DENIED

Met on what seemed a honeymoon,
Guess it wasn't quite your dream come true.
Maybe the excitement was too much for us to stand.

We went overboard way to soon,
Landing in separate oceans of blue.
I never got to place this ring upon your hand.

I guess one never should assume,
But something led me to believe
There could be no other in this life for me.

But now this dark and lonely room
Leaves only one truth to perceive,
I'm missing you but you're not missing me.

Was it by Fate, was it by chance,
That faced with love, you turned away.
It seems expectations were set too high.

But tell me by what circumstance
Dark eyes voice what you would not say.
Girl, did I not at least deserve, "goodbye".

In silence I open the drawer
Where your poems still sing for me.
With a sigh I set the ring inside.

Closing a dream for evermore,
I know I now must leave you be,
But I wish you love, if but by love denied.

Michael, I don't know what to say, I was so sure the two of you would dance underneath the stars forever more. Know that you have many friends you can lean on, so when the wall feels to hard know that you can come talk anytime. God Bless You always, you will be in my prayers
