AN ANGEL'S JOY I feel shame in longing for her kiss. I feel guilt for wanting to touch. It wasn't supposed to be like this, I don't think I've ever hurt so much. God presented me an angel I thought was to be my wife. She raised me from the depths of hell, The one blessing to my life. But like everything in life before I've managed to destroy. It was the Devil's lust I bore That stole my angel's joy. Now I curse the hands that held her, Though they long to hold her still. I only meant to give her pleasure, Now I know I never will. As the lips I purchased way to soon By sweetness on her breath, On severed wings of memory swoon, My sin become my death. Michael Anderson It's the little things you take for granted That'll mean the most when they're gone. [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 02-10-2000).] |

michael: *virtually speechless* this is magnificent... i knew you were a superb writer, but to portray such emotion and to incite it within one who has NOT experienced the same thing... to do so is to create a masterpiece... and i would say that is what you have done here... this is exquisite work... i hope you wont mind if i bookmark it so i can come back and read it again and again... sincerely & respectfully, jerome the mysterious priest A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover! ~Coleridge |

Michael, I am fairly new here and seeing your work for the first time today...(here and over at "journeys")...I agree with jerome completly..this is excellent!! So very well written one can feel the pain on the page...I love the line-"lips I purchased too soon"...very nice... take care janet marie ..."when you walked into the room...I saw their faces--- did you know--you made it seem like time was standing still... and I felt---fascination...though I only knew you then--just casually... then you slowly turned and smiled in my direction... and my heart gave me away".... Michael I too like to think of a special angel in my life, and yet she is just a woman and you only a man, and life has love and life has pain, if you want someone to blame, it is life you must blame. A relationship requires lots of work and attention. Mistakes can be overcome and forgiven. It only takes two with a soft and willing heart each willing to meet the other halfway. James |

That's quite a compliment, P_K. Come back here and read anytime you wish. Love seeing you here in the Dark Forum. Let me also wish you a personal congrads on becoming a moderator while I was away. Janet Marie, I'm glad my poetry had made such an impression on you so soon. James, those are very wise words you speak. Very true and comforting in themselves. Thank you my friend. Thank you Haleyja and Munda also for the kind replies. Michael |
