COLD SILENCE All I want to do is hold her, She's laying right here next to me. I want to feel her head on my shoulder, The way it was meant to be. I know this woman inside out, Our souls danced when apart. But something's wrong, there is no doubt, And it's breaking my heart. She doesn't look me in the eye, She doesn't hold my hand. She doesn't care anymore that I cry, Or care if I understand. But as I've said before, I know her well, What dreams her eyes may see. It was only left for Time to tell She wouldn't see those dreams in me. I lay here, cold, yet still love her. Silence foretells she'll soon be gone. Every star shining above her, One more I've only wished upon. And every hope I've dared to dream Lost to a dimmened eye. While every whisper on the wind would seem Her unspoken goodbye. Michael Anderson < !signature--> It's the little things you take for granted, That'll mean the most to you when they're gone. [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 02-09-2000).] |

this touched so deeply within me. i have been the woman of which you write. i was driven to that point though-but tried to fight the love that was dieing inside-just got tired of fighting a battle i was losing. when all said and done-he was left with regret. ( this really stirred something up-i could go on and on) neway-deep, and felt even deeper-as usual. well done micheal. Something has to change. An undeniable dilemma. But I am not a burden anyone should bear. -Tool- |

Sometimes it's hard to say what you feel..maybe the girl in the poem couldn't express her feelings? Very good.. but so sad... |

Beautiful. I know what it is like when love dies...it hurts. More than words can tell...except in poetry. I think this one is great!! "Dreams are not a reality, no matter how much we wish"-TanAngel |

It moved me... it's painfull when you losing slowly the one you love...and somehow throught all of it in all that pain one goes through...you never stop loving her/him... "I lay here cold yet still love her..." simply...beautiful... you don't have to understand completely..to love completely... remember even the darkest night has a morning to meet...you'll understand someday..Avanti Rao |

Danni, I'm glad this poem reached you in such a manner. Pepper, mine too. Bronx, you're right, love is something one should never give up on...always keep trying. PdV, I hope you're right. I guess time will tell. AVANTI, definately hard to let go, even through the pain. Chris - I think we are most definately emotionally linked. Munda, Janet, TanAngel, thank you so much for your kind replies. michael |

"What dreams her eyes may see" I seemed to like this line more than any other. I'm not sure why. Joy |

Michael. I feel your pain. It is sad to know that love is there for you but it's just not "in the moood" to be your friend right now. Hang in there and keep the poems flyin. Eli |

This poem reminded me not of a woman, but of me and the love I never started, or the love he never gave me. This poem is full of emotion, some which rolled down my cheek.... |

It is unfortunate that this has happened. But, I knew and said nothing. Another new as well, and offered friendship. Now cast out from that and this. What prices we pay for knowledge. I will say nothing more on this. |

dvlishimp, It will be unfortunate if things don't work out for Gen and I but I must say that even if they don't, it is not unfortunate what I have shared with her. She has given me hope where I had none before, she has given me love I never felt before. If I could take any of our relationship back, I wouldn't change one thing. We have made mistakes, as all people will. We will either overcome these mistakes and move forward or we won't, but in either case I would call such a statement from you premature at best. Personally, I view an "I knew" from you as an "I told you so" from the other party you mention. I don't think either of your opinions are honorable at this point. You don't know anything on my behalf. If Gen and I were to never speak again, she would still stand higher in my eyes than any lover and any friend I've ever had and I hardly view myself as that tarnished in her eyes. If you "knew" anything about me, you would know that my poetry is an extension of my feelings more so than an extension of reality. I stretch my poetry to the fullest extent of the emotion I am trying to portray so my feelings better reach the reader, also to release or purge that emotion from myself as poetry is often the only source of release I have for it. If you "knew" something about Gen that I didn't (and still don't), then truly your comment was most inappropriate and I am glad to hear you will say nothing further. Everyone else, I truly thank you for the kindness and compassion in your replies. Michael [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 02-12-2000).] |
