How do I get out of this dusty, old tomb? Where is the key to this dark, lonely room? I'm held a prisoner with a bondage of fear. My punishment is certain, my crime yet unclear. Most days pass by without notice from me. The sun rises and sets but this I cannot see. The suns warmth doesn't penetrate the walls of this room. Cold shadows instead over me do loom. I used to fear the darkness, now it clings to me like skin. It wraps itself around me, refusing to let the light come in. Although I want out, I fear for what me does await. Is my life my own making? Or is this darkness my fate? Oh yes, please do release me, let me see the light of day. Don't leave me locked up here, please don't leave me this way. How do I get out of this must, old tomb? Where is the key to this cold, lifeless room? 9/77 |

this is so very good, sad, but very well expressed. I hope you have found the key...and see the sunlight...we all feel this way at times...many times I found I had the key inside myself all along...and being able to write like this always helped too. take care, janet marie Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Some emotions run too deep to be described by words, Forgiveness and understanding- remain the most beautiful words ever heard. Janet Marie |

Loved your poem. It expressed so many things I can identify with so well. I hope writing this helped you. |

A very strong poem, which I liked a lot. I hope you'll find the key from with in and can set yourself free. Very well done. |

Loved this poem childomine...very beautiful and something I think that most people can relate to in a way. I thought the very same thing before when I was in your position....and one night I found that the key...my freedom...had been inside me all along. It's something to be fought for...something that will be found. The thing is to never loose hope or your determination. "They can take away my belongings. They can beat me. They can torchure me and they can kill me. Then they will have my dead body. But they will not have my obedience." -Gandhi ~*Angel of Darkness*~ |

Excellently written and I believe to find a solution you first need to identify the problem and I think you have taken the first step. Keep looking for those brighter days. James |

Everyone has that room inside... Most people get very good at avoiding it though. Well done... Carman |
