I lie here alone in the dark As I watch the shadows dancing in the night I wonder what it is I did Chained and shackled my virtue fades No soul screams louder than thou My crusade of despair writes no end A vision shows a picture I painted A prison shown built by my regret Walls of despair surround my life Gates of sorrow lie before my fate Now I realize as I lie here There is no star to guide my heart As I watch the shadows dancing in the night I just realized an error in my poem. It is Suppose to be gates of sorrow lie, not gates of lie. Sorry about that it was late last night when i posted it. baerlon < !signature--> There's a peace inside us all Let it be your friend It will help you carry on In the end There's a peace inside us all (Creed) baerlon [This message has been edited by baerlon (edited 01-31-2000).] |

Filled with lonliness as I read your poem. In our quest for peace we are all too often our own worst enemy. |

Beautiful depiction of despair. The last lines are very moving. |

Keep aiming towards the light hon, the blurrs lessons and within it is that sought after happiness. Liked this great descriptionsl.. Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

this poem is sad, but very beautifully written and touching, as well as emotionally descriptive...only someone with a talented "soul" could have written it. Thank you for sharing it,Take care, janet marie Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Some emotions run too deep to be described by words, Forgiveness and understanding- remain the most beautiful words ever heard. Janet Marie |

Very nicely done....loved the imagery and the beauty in this. Your heart does not need a star to guide it...it guides itself....you just have to listen carefully. "They can take away my belongings. They can beat me. They can torchure me and they can kill me. Then they will have my dead body. But they will not have my obedience." -Gandhi ~*Angel of Darkness*~ |
