~Tapestry of Poets~

Putting pen to paper,
Exchanging words for rhyme.
Sharing a hearts sentiment...
Capturing a life's moment in time.

Expressions of affection,
Portraits of old pain.
Confessions from a souls shadow,
A poets wisdom to gain.

Creating tapestries of emotion,
Woven with affirmations of gold.
Whispered promises echo in the night,
Unveiling a prophets vision to behold.

Redemption confirms our presence,
Fate then casts a guiding light.
Revealing secrets of our past...
Allows our souls to take flight.

Janet Marie-1/30/00

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

Janet, What a beautiful poem with beautiful nuances.  I agree about the soul's shadow bit too!!  It is certainly like that for me.
Thanks for dedicating it to all the fine poets here.

Lovely sentiments Janet.

This is a beautiful and true dedication. It reminded of a verse in one of my favorite songs.
"I am stepping through my shadow.
Coming out the other side.
Stepping through my sahdow
Finding out
What I've tried to hide."
very well done.

I too thought this was great.  I liked the last line the best "Allows our souls to take flight"  I think that's true about writing and also when you read someone else's work you can identify with.
