"Silently Screaming"

In silent screams of desperation, I live my thoughts alone--
no one home to hear my tears--no one there to care.

Ten-thousand angry voices echo through my head,
with screams, so quietly deafening,
but not a word said--
yet, so clearly shouting,
thoughts I’ve learned to dread.

So many times, I’ve wished that I
could leave this haunted house of mine,
to be somewhere else instead, far away from time.

But I can’t escape the confines of this body, I call mine.
It has me trapped within it’s keep,
where endless thoughts, forever seep
inside, deep into my unconscious mind.

Forever, silent in despair,
these thoughts, I can no longer bear.
They claw and tear and pull my hair,
until I’m left completely bare--my body, in total disrepair.

So, without the body to impair,
my soul is left to soar the air,
in search of new hosts, for which to share.

Released from the physical, I become invisible,
free to roam, I find a new home,
only to discover ten-thousand more angry souls trapped inside,
silently screaming, in despair.

This is dark!  Gene, you seem to be more than "Silently Screaming" in this poem.

Joy,
I thought no one else could hear me screaming. Actually, this isn't that dark. It's just kinda gray for me.

Janet Marie,
Thanks, this may seem a little different, but that's because I've been hesitant about posting dark stuff. If I really expressed some of my thoughts, it might scare people. I've had more pain in my life than anyone should have to endure. It's just that I've lived with it for so long, that I'm used to it.

Thanks goodness I found you.
That's one heck of a good poem your wrote there Gene.
"Silently screaming, in despair", I can relate to that. If you ever want/need to talk Gene, I will be there, for I care and you're terribly missed at the Pub.
Take care my friend.

Great imagery Gene, you seem to have a alot of darkness in your life. My favorite line is "with screams, quietly deafening", I can really relate to it.

Powerful and different in thinking, I liked this

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......
