DELIVER US Evergreen sought naivety, Victorian principle sheaths thee. Imagination rendered numb, Lo and behold, the weak succumb. We go forth, aye, but forward not. As was foretold by plan or plot. Loosed, as cannons, words of steel Keenly apply to all who kneel. Severed hands yet would dare to fold, Alas, by dream or death grown bold. Moreover, standing gallantly, Overhead hangs the noose for me. Never visible in the dark. Grievously evil comes the mark. Unknown to eyes, oblivious, Shall never one deliver us? Wow Michael. But we shouldn't rely on anyone to deliver us... I think love should deliver us. I'm a sap I know At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet. (Plato) ~Isis~ (Daughter of Mystery) |

Evil does indeed walk among us but so does good. I truly believe that no one is all good or all evil. There exists a degree of each within everyone. Some find one harder than the other to show or accept yet there is always a spark of good within even the Darkest soul. It should be the task of all mankind to blow upon that spark of kindness and compassion, to feed the flames and turn that spark into a raging bonfire, regardless of where it is found. I am not so crass as to exclude myself from those who need to learn and accept the varying degrees of light and dark within each of us. 'Tis a quite insightful verse. Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© ------------------------------------------------------- "Either kill me or take me as I am, because I'll be damned if I ever change..." Very well done, Michael.... The way I see it, our first responsibility is to ourselves. We have to foster our own intrinsic good, and spurn the evil that lurks about us. It works. Emoting a good, positive attitude - brings back sunshine and keeps our lives in tune. 'Tis true - Ye reap what ye sow.... |

I think faith delivers us from evil. Faith in God, in ourselves, in the innate goodness of humanity......let your soul be restored! Evil can only live where we allow it to ... smile..... there is no place for evil here, we are a loving family and will circle the inkwells to keep evil at bay. (by the way..good poem!) |

Thank you all for your replies. Scott, I believe we should always try to find the good in people so long as in doing so we aren't blindly allowing more harm to be inflicted upon others. PdV, you're 100% right, "Evil can only live where we allow it to." Michael |
