Lizard Uncovered by will I am fill of heat on cement wall enthralled by a lizards look and dare; I move one painted nail and close of eye, his veil falls and winks me startled when I reach the wind past the dome of slatted light and find the place of him empty and me waiting for more, find instead, internal door. Where the white creep of day runs wild; a stallion with no saddle across the nape of morning’s pleasure pasture past the muddy slip of river bank, there to meadow down with naked sky and truth not lie. This, from one small step and reach now frozen with will to see again the gleam of lizard’s watch as he slips from the down side blade into the light of my painted toe again and waits in quiet to behold a minute spent with you. |

Once again I was about to slip some streaming words of yours back to you, but to break away any of the imagery you've left behind for us would have been like throwing paint at van Gogh's Sunflowers... |

The ending is a little abrupt, I would have liked a more gentle transition into the second party. It might even deserve a stanza of its own. Although I truly love the development of theme you've got going here. You've always had a knack for taking something simple and exploring its depths like this... I'm constantly a fan, and it's a privelege to be reading the loveliness of your imagination again. Keep up the high-quality work, my friend. Much love Brian |

Martie...Yes. please do it again Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder. |

What an entrance! "Uncovered by will I am fill of heat on cement wall" I read this three or four times already and sure I'll read it more. It gives one an appetite for additional exploration and interpretation. I so enjoy your work. Sade |

find instead, internal door. Where the white creep of day runs wild; a stallion with no saddle across the nape of morning’s pleasure pasture past the muddy slip of river bank, there to meadow down with naked sky and truth not lie. That verse could stand alone, but I'm so glad it doesn't! Love your insight Martie, and the intricate weaving of your words. |

Love the way you play little things against big things....your imagery scintillating every time! Who hasn't stood this tiny watch, but who among us has told of it? Only you. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Ah, Martie ~~ I missed this one ~~ It does pay to keep an eye on your path, but I've seen too many lizards recently for one such creature to hold my interest the way this undersized dinosaur seems to hold yours. Maybe that explains why you're a better poet than I. |

Martie, This was something so beautiful to read this morning...thank you for that. "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |
