If I had only known it was to be the last time That I would ever be in your haloed presence I would have sold everything to stop the clock And linger in the limbo of time with you I would suffer any and all consequence As long as I was there to subsist on your flesh Instead of a growing pale memory, fleeting, failing This is where I need to be, right here This place is my oxygen and my light And I curse the endless core of me That I foolishly accepted this fate And its wretched, biting teeth leaving marks Burning with fury at both ends of me Resounding its glory with each echo Of never Never Never Again |

You certainly expressed those kinds of wretched feelings and thoughts exceedingly well! Whew! Now I'm in a state of angst and despair! ~ I suppose that that is a good indication on your effective writing skills! EA |

PK-I tried to pick out my favorite line, but found myself copying the entire poem -- very, very much enjoyed your talent here. *smile* ....jo |

I would have sold everything to stop the clock And linger in the limbo of time with you I too was struck by these lines. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

This is where I need to be, right here This place is my oxygen and my light And I curse the endless core of me ~*~ Sometimes, I feel just this way... well done, Sir... |

gut wrenching poem...perhaps you still could, b/c I don't believe there is anything more vital to a woman then honesty. Perhaps if you would go to her and admit the truth, all of it....maybe there would still be a chance...would take time...hard work, but you certainly have nothing to lose, at least you'd win her respect and your own. The most difficult thing to do, is say, I'm sorry I was wrong...but when done, the whole world rests in your hands and off your shoulders, not to mention, great changes in your lives. You have my best wishes |

Thank you all for your great replies. This is not my usual style I know. And LeeJ...this was not about being guilty. This was about losing something, someone. |

It took me several reads to respond to this flow of heart. It is very difficult to lose someone that means so much to us...the words you chose grip that tortured place so vividly. I can only humbly say, that we are led where we need to be...tested and tried...and sometimes the most difficult and most loving choice is to let go. Arms around you. A wonderful work here. TD |

oh, if only selling the clock now could actually bring back time |

Hi PK, sorry, when I read this it made me very sad for you and she, and that is why I wrote a poem for the both of you. Forgive my assumptions...wishing you the best, along with a happy and safe holiday weekend. My Best |

Thanks Lee...just another reminder that all poems are not to be taken literally. There's actually something in this one that is only known to me. |
