Begging God
*
The brushstrokes of love and life
can take us places we never thought to explore,
revealing treasures out of reach,
beyond the limit's of our own imagination's door.

In search of the treasures of Michael Auguste,
once again I stroll in my minds-eye
silently, along a southern sandy beach.
The view of Michael is heartwarming:
Pelicans, gulls, egrets and sandpipers
sit within his arms reach.
I find Michael by the azure waters edge,
paint brushes in hand
deftly painting proud sails upon the seas,
and beneath his toes, warm wet sand,
knees in graceful genuflect,
thanking God
for the gift of art,
seeking the warmth and healing
only God can give his heart.

For Michael wields in his hands
a God-gifted power to share
the abundant beauties of the sea,
and all creatures that abide there.

I slip silently past,
not wishing to disturb this special moment.
The birds on the shoreline seem to be
watching his every brushstroke,
in much the same way I imagine
they watched Vincent so long ago.
Their combined concentrated gaze
says they are thanking Michael,
for honoring life with unconditional love,
and for his undying willingness to share
the brushstrokes of love and life.

*
For our passionate poet and artist,
Michael Auguste. Namaste, dear friend.

I wish to be one of the ripples of love for Michael that merges with those of others into mountainous waves of peace to wash over him.

Kacy, I was moved beyond words with the love and beauty of this poem and how well you captured our beloved Michael!

God bless you both!
&
Linda

Knowing Michael, he would have loved to have had you stand there and watch, and to have talked to you of oceans and poems and things.  This is beauiful!

Thank you so much for adding your love and healing wishes, Linda.
And Sharon? thanking you so very much, for adding that picture. It is my very favorite Michael Auguste painting.

Wishing peaceful moments for you, dear Michael, and that your heart and soul always stay within love's waters.

Thank you Martie, I hope he has an opportunity to read this and the replies. We all miss his passionate presence (and presents).

Beautiful heartfelt tribute and prayer for a wonderful man.
Thank you for this Kacy.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Kacy, what a beautiful poem for Michael, I'm sure he'll be thrilled. I haven't been around these pages in a long while (work, school, work, school...no life!!), so I didn't realize how ill Michael had become. I was fortunate to be able to spend an afternoon with Michael over a couple of beers when I was in his home town on business, and he truly is as kind and gentle as he seems through his poetry and art. Mysteria, what a lovely picture you put into your response, what a talent he truly is.

This was a beauty to be framed in golden aray...

God bless you and Michael both, he will love this.
