Listening to every heart

Rocks of Ages
(My People)

My people
still reside
though we have faded
into the background
of this life

Cave dwellers we were,
cave dwellers we remain,
I will wait
for our warriors
to return.

The winds curl in time,
seasons shift our lot
echoes remain
drums still beat
for those who heed.

I know you heard,
for you looked toward
my heart,
toward my home,
seeing through shadows.

You only wondered
if we would talk,
always believing
that you would heed,
knowing to attend to
your own
second sight.

Always believe
the inner voices,
even in
our silence.

~*~

Again, if you see her,
Good.  If not?
You will, in time.

A shelf Dixie, we need a whole library for the amount of poems our Sunshine posts! M'lady you must think poetry 24/7, and that is a gift.  Was wondering what to do this day, this poem made up my mind - off to the coolness of the mountain forest.
