Of Vultures

A vulture sets within my zone
And picks and tears my flesh from bone
A portion of my life each day
Falls beneath his beak each flay

I cannot set the clock above
Or change the vulture to a dove
Or make the whale regurgitate
Or slow the process of my state

I watch disintegration fly
Pollute the land pollute the sky
Pollute the waters of the sea
Pollute the sea that started me

If lives a pox that we call sin
This paradox we live within
Than I am guilty to the core
And like the vulture eat its store

But paradox would not be strange
A part of rot and time and change

Oh, my, Dear Sy! As brilliant and creative as this write is, I found it rather unsettling. Some of the images almost made me cry ~ like vultures ravaging your body.

I know I should be appreciating the metaphors and not be taking everything so literally, but your descriptions were so vivid, I could not help but be drawn into them.

I will picture you as a seagull flying high and free in a bright and clear cerulean summer sky. Your call is strong and mighty and you can see into forever. ~ There, now I'm happy!

Loveya, my sweet sonneteering seagull! lol

Be happy! We all adore you and in the hearts of you and your friends, you shall be forever young! Angel smootches!

Fantastic write this morning Sy!!
Very powerful read to kick-start my day!
Have a great weekend.
~Morning hugs, Nancy~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Seymour, although a dark write for you (matches the rain here today), I believe you put much truth in this one, and I appreciate your words of wisdom.   ...jo

Wouldn't it be nice if we could change the process...
or slow it down?

It does feel that way sometimes, doesn't it? *S* Just remember... you have a flock of fans that are more than ready to whip some vulture butt... though we may then smother you with smooches??? *G*

Excellent write!!!
