My writing is all upside down
Generated with not a smile
But a frown
Anger sweeps over so much I see
I am concerned
What is this doing to me
I wait to say
Trying to hide from it
Then when I start
My muse is in a snit
There is more to say
Than how I am affected
More to say
Than sounding afflicted
Please sweet muse
Open more to me
Please dear muse
There is so much I see
And feel and think
It must be time
To write something else
Anger has had enough
Of a ride

You need only look at the smile upon the face in your photo to see the potential of joy. And sometimes, when things are down, we need only revisit a past joy. I find too, that writing out the anger helps me dispel its power over me. So, write on, my friend - 'tis all good.

Paul, like you, I appreciate a poem that has that real feel to it, and, well, I get that with this one. I know for me, my muse always surprises me when I least expect it...oh, if we only had control over the muse....but I don't think that's the way it works. I liked this write, even if you had more you wanted to say. I'll be watching for those words, too, my friend.

I think the only way I can write is if I have negative emotions...pain, sadness, anger, hatred, etc

once in a blue moon, I will write a happy one, but not often

She will return, but not when you want her to. I have been in this situation before and it is very frustrating. Take a deep breath and be patient and soon she will return.
